Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is asking nature lovers to fundraise as it embarks on its mission to protect at least 30 per cent of land and sea for nature by 2030.
The charity is running a selection of walks for families and grownups to show the ways in which investing in nature can help combat climate change as well as giving an exclusive tour of the work the Trust is doing on the ground to fight climate change.
People can now sign up to a Big Wild Walk around The Roaches on Friday 29th October, a guided walk where you can learn all about the role peatlands play in climate mitigation and get an exclusive tour of the work carried out at the Roaches in the fight against climate change.
In honour of the Trust’s 30 by 30 goal, it is also challenging people challenging to take on one of the following:
- Walk 30km over the Big Wild Walk week
- Walk 30km in three days
- Walk 30km in one day
The walk at The Roaches is being aimed at adults.
The Big Wild Walk is part of The Wildlife Trust movement’s action against climate change as part of COP26 (The UN Climate Conference of the parties) which takes place from 1st-12th November. The role of nature is one of the key topics to be discussed.
