Family events programme to resume this May half-term

Staffordshire’s largest nature conservation charity is set to resume its family events across the county.

Now lockdown is easing, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is bringing back its popular events programme across the county, including Wildfamilies, Wildlings, Wild Yoga and GetWild sessions, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

While some events have already returned, from May half-term the full events programme will return to provide fun outdoor activities for all ages. We will have activities taking place at The Wolseley Centre, Eton Park in Burton, Hem Heath Woods, Gradbach Mill and more.

All events need to be pre-booked via www.staffs-wildlife.org.uk/events and will have Covid-19 safety measures in place to keep people safe, including being run at 50 per cent capacity as per current government guidance.

Senior Wildchild Officer for Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, Aimee Burrows, said: “We're very much looking forward to getting our full face-to-face events back up and running and seeing people again.

“It is essential that everyone who wants to attend an event books online so we can keep a track of numbers.

"Having spent so long indoors and behind screens during the past 12 months, we can't wait to get back outdoors to deliver our popular series of events across the county.

“It’s also the start of 30 Days Wild in June, a month which encourages families and people of all ages to go wild.”

People are also being reminded that the Trust’s two visitor centres and cafes at Wolseley, near Rugeley, and Westport Lake, in Stoke, have now also reopened. The Trust’s charity shops in Leek, Penkridge and Codsall have also reopened their doors.
