About the event

Burton & District Wildlife Group will be hosting guided walk from Burton Queens Hospital. It will include steep unsurfaced paths, with a rewarding access to a developing site.

The theme of the walk is: An introduction to Badger's Wood Ecosystem.

From the treetop canopy to the woodland floor, birds, mammals and invertebrates all contribute to the unique ecosystem of the area. Explore how nature balances the ecosystem and how sympathetic management can underpin and enhance this process.

Lynn is used to teaching at all levels, from special needs to university students, so no prior knowledge needed.

Burton Conservation Volunteers have been working with the NHS, to open up and develop the site, that consists of ancient woodland and new plantation wood, installing log steps, opening up paths, and planting trees and woodland flora (the seeds and bulbs funded by Burton Civic Society).

Meet at Queens Hospital Outwoods site, car park 6 (rear of the bus terminus).

£4 per person, children free, all profits go to Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.

Burton & District Wildlife Group hold regular wildlife themed talks, normally on the first Tuesday of each month, or educational walks over the summer.
