The Trust is hosting a range of nature themed activities at its headquarters, The Wolseley Centre, near Rugeley and Stafford.

The holidays begin with Wildlings on Monday 30 March from 10.30am until 12pm and 1.30pm until 3pm on Tuesday 31 March. These sessions are designed for children aged 6 months to five years. They’re encouraged to choose their adventure, follow their curiosity, and let nature guide them to explore, discover, and create. They might swing gently in a hammock, get gloriously mucky with hands‑on mud play, or be mesmerised by the crackle and glow of a campfire as we toast tasty snacks!

On Wednesday 1 April 1.30 - 3.30pm and Wednesday 8 April 10.30am - 12.30pm,  older children can GetWild. These free sessions are suitable for children aged 8 to 16 years. It’s the perfect chance for them to climb trees, build dens and get a bit mucky outside! Drop them off for a fun adventure. These sessions are free of charge thanks to funding from Tesco Stronger Starts but booking is essential.

On Thursday 2 April, from 1.30pm until 3pm, there’s a Wildfamilies Care for Birds session. It includes a walk around the nature reserve to discover how to identify the birds that live here before making a bird feeder.

Aimee Beardmore, Wildchild and Engagement Lead, said: “Our main event is our Easter Eggstravaganza which runs from 10am until 1pm on Saturday 4 April.

“Come and enjoy a morning of Easter-based activities with us! We’ll have a campfire and lots of forest-based fun. You can also make your own unique Easter decorations, as well as enjoying crafts and games - it'll be very eggciting!

“We’re hosting an Easter Market at The Wolseley Centre on the same day with lots of lovely gifts and crafts for you to browse.”

On Tuesday 7 April, from 10am until 12pm, and 1.30pm until 3.30pm, there are Minibeast Hunting and Pond Dipping sessions. Discover pond dwelling creatures and see who is hiding under the log piles.

There is also the Dark Skies event on Wednesday 8 April from 7.30pm until 9pm. The evening begins with indoor crafts, then it’s outside for moth spotting and bat detecting. We might even see owls!

The fun wraps up with a Springtime Explorers session on Thursday 9 April, from 10.30am until 12pm which blends crafting and exploring. Enjoy various activities around the nature reserve, including wildlife spotting and crafting with natural materials.
