Learn more about fascinating world of bats at Trust’s Wosleley Centre

Nature lovers who want to find out more about one of Britain’s most fascinating nocturnal mammals are being invited to join night-time walks at Staffordshire Wildlife Trust’s HQ.

The Trust and the Staffordshire Bat Group are holding a series of walks at the Trust’s Wolseley Centre base, near Rugeley.

Participants will be introduced to bat detectors, devices that allow us to hear the ultrasonic sounds that bats make as they fly and hunt. Species that participants can expect to see or hear include the pipistrelle and daubenton bat.

The walks take place on Saturday 17th July, Saturday 7th August, Saturday 21st August and Saturday 18th September.

Proceeds of the walks are divided equally between Staffordshire Bat Group and Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. The cost is £6 for adults and free for Staffordshire Bat Group members and children.

Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
