Enjoy a warm welcome at our award-winning visitor centres, situated in tranquil natural surroundings abundant with wildlife. There is The Wolseley Centre situated in 26 tranquil acres brimming with wildlife that underwent a redevelopment improving facilities in 2019 and at Westport, our lakeside centre boasts stunning panoramic views. Events for all ages are run at both centres throughout the year for you to get close to nature. Best of all? Both centres are completely free to visit!

Our Wolseley Centre Kingfisher Cafe and Westport Lake Cafe both reopened their indoor seating on Monday 17th May. Outdoor seating is also available at both visitor centres. The public will have to undergo track and trace and follow current Government Covid guidelines.

The Wolseley Visitor Centre and giftshop reopened on Monday 12th April. Please read here before you plan to visit the site.

The centre is the ideal place for all ages - and even better it's completely FREE to visit. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon taking in the grounds and spotting wildlife, or bring along all the family and let the little ones burn off some steam exploring the nature trails and play features.

When you're finished, you can relax with a drink in the visitor centre's new cafe (trying our homemade cakes are a must!), or bring along a picnic to eat on one of the many picnic benches around the grounds.

Dogs are more than welcome on the site but must be kept on leads at all times and are allowed in the cafe where there will be a designated area for you and your pooch.

All funds raised from The Wosleley Centre goes directly to the charity to help us look after Staffordshire's wildlife and wild places.

Westport Lake Visitor Centre with panoramic views

Westport Lake Visitor Centre

Enjoy a warm welcome in our friendly cafe and take tea over looking the lake

Westport Lake Visitor Centre

Take in panoramic views of Westport Lake and see if you can spot some birdlife while enjoying a drink and a snack at our Westport Lake Visitor Centre in Stoke-on-Trent.

We offer a range of hot and cold drinks - including teas, coffees and hot chocolate - and snacks including paninis and a range of irresistible cream cakes.

These can be enjoyed either inside or outside on the balcony overlooking the lake.

Our cafe even has the seal of approval from TV naturalist Chris Packham, who popped in before giving a talk to supporters of the Trust. He said the hot chocolate was "superb and second to none!"

Surrounding the centre there is lots to explore too. There is a good, level footpath of around one mile around the lake, and a health walk around the conservation area. Check out our Westport Lake Visitor Centre page for more details.
