Wildplay

Wildplay

Where did you play as a child? What started your interest in the natural world? Chances are you will have played in a place near to your home that was outside. So that's exactly what we're doing with Wildplay.

What is Wildplay?

Wildplay is our way of introducing children and families to the outdoors and the natural environment whilst doing lots of exciting stuff. So at a Wildplay session you might be bug hunting, mud painting, grass sledging, lighting fires or playing lots of games. Our Wildplay leaders have loads of activities up their sleeves - and they'd love you to come up with some ideas of your own. Most importantly - we want you to have fun!

Where can you come and Play?

To find out where your nearest Wildplay session is check out the What's On pages. We are not able to run sessions everywhere in Staffordshire yet - but bear with us - we're trying to find funding to offer wildplay to every borough.

We have wildplay projects running in the following areas at the moment:

Tamworth Borough

East Staffordshire

Stoke-on-Trent (including Westport Lakes)

Newcastle-under-Lyme

Staffordshire Moorlands

The Wolseley Centre

What do I need to come and Play?

We always go outside for our sessions  and as you never know what the weather is going to do, make sure you come prepared for rain or shine. In the rain bring a waterproof coat (and trousers if you have them) and get your wellies on to come and splash in those puddles! In the sun a hat and suncream are important to stop you getting burnt. Make sure you wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit dirty

If you are coming to a session at Westport or Wolseley, you usually need to book - so don't forget to phone in advance to make sure you're not disappointed.
