One Last Push!
Our fundraising for the Wolseley Boardwalk has passed £23,000 as we embark on one final push to reach £30,000 by the end of the year. If you haven't yet donated or think that making someone a Plank Sponsor would make an unusual Christmas present, now's your chance!
The fantastic new boardwalk was officially opened by a star of BBC’s The One Show. Mike Dilger, the natural history presenter on the hit TV programme, joined Staffordshire Wildlife Trust’s chairman Vince Smith to open the charity’s new boardwalk on Saturday September 10th.
But we still need your help funding it - please give what you can today! Thank you!
Thanks to some Staffordshire Aggregates Levy Grant Scheme (SALGS) funding, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust has managed
to raise over half the money to replace the current 20 year-old boardwalk, but we need your help to raise the remaining £30,000 and keep Wolseley’s pièce de résistance afloat!
Whether you’re a family out for the afternoon with the grandchildren for a gentle stroll, perhaps with a wheelchair or pushchair, are out for a brisk walk around with your dogs, or a keen photographer sitting waiting for a glimpse of the kingfishers, the boardwalk at Wolseley has many users old and young, something we want to continue for many years to come. Without the boardwalk, now sadly rather worse for wear, visitors will miss out on a large part of the current Wolseley experience.
The new boardwalk should last for many years and as Wolseley currently gets around 50,000 visitors annually, that’s 1.5 million people who will benefit from your donation over the next 30 years! This is a once-in-a-lifetime ask for help as the new boardwalk should outlive us all!As match funding, every £20 you are able to give will make sure we can release another £30 of grant funding towards the project.
All donations will be gratefully received and really help to ensure the Wolseley Experience stays around for future generations.
For £20 or more you can become a Plank Sponsor and receive a certificate to recognise your support, plus have your name entered onto the Sponsors’ Register to be displayed in the Wolseley Centre. Gift Certificates are also available, so why not sponsor a plank as an alternative present for someone who loves to visit Wolseley?
Become a Boardwalk Benefactor by giving £250 or more. We will recognise this with your name being marked on a plaque at the entrance to the new boardwalk and an invitation to the official opening event in September, plus an annual guided walk around the Wolseley grounds. Please help in any way that you can to make sure we can make this happen! Thank you.
