Trust to hold first ever #StaffordshireWildlifeHour

Tuesday 13th March 2018

The county’s largest nature conservation charity is encouraging people to take part in its first ever #StaffordshireWildlifeHour on Twitter this Wednesday.

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is asking people to take part in #StaffordshireWildlifeHour between 9pm-10pm by telling them what they love about wildlife.

The charity also wants to hear from people on how they help wildlife and where their favourite open spaces are in the county. People are also being asked to share their wildlife photography during the hour.

#StaffordshireWildlifeHour will follow a similar template to the well-established #StaffordshireHour which takes place every Wednesday between 8pm-9pm, where businesses, groups, and individuals talk about what they have been up to during the week.

Jon Owen, Press and Social Media Officer for Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, said: “We have a great following of over 11,000 on our Twitter page and love it when people engage with us, sharing their news, views and images of our county’s wildlife.

“#StaffordshireWildlifeHour will hopefully be a celebration of what is great about wildlife in Staffordshire.

“We want people to get in touch with us during the hour to tell us what they’re doing to give wildlife a helping hand in their lives, what they love about wildlife and where they think are the best places in the county to see wildlife.

“Anyone can get involved, we hope there will be a number of interesting and exciting discussions during the hour. It takes place after the weekly #StaffordshireHour so we’re hoping people will stick around for a bit longer and engage with us, too.

“#StaffordshireWildlifeHour will be a one-off and not a regular occurrence like #StaffordshireHour, but if it goes well we’ll look at running more throughout the year.”

Anyone who wishes to take part in the Trust’s #StaffordshireWildlifeHour this Wednesday, 14th March, should follow the Trust at and use the #StaffordshireWildlifeHour between 9pm-10pm.
