Your Local Group Needs You...

After many years of outstanding service, Stafford Local Group Chairman, Stan Tiso, and Secretary, Ruth Williams, will be stepping down from their roles. We wish to thank both Stan and Ruth for all their hard work and dedication to the success of Stafford Group and we hope that you will join us in congratulating them on all they have achieved.

This gives us at least 2 exciting new gaps to fill in the Stafford Group Committee  and we are now looking to recruit a team of volunteers to take over the helm. Local Group Chairman - To Lead the Committee of Stafford Local Group, ensuring it fulfills its responsibilities to  promote and support Staffordshire Wildlife Trust in order to help the Trust achieve its mission.

• Hold and Chair at least 4 Committee Meetings per year and the Groups Annual General Meeting, inc facilitating the electing or re-electing of the committee.

• Produce local Update (100 words), for the Local Groups section of the SWT Magazine and a summary report from the Chairman at the AGM

• Represent the group (where possible) at local events/activities and attend the County Local Groups Meeting (twice a year)

• Ensure the programme and budgeting of the group is carried out successfully, ensuring that the group is self sufficient.

Local Group Secretary - Provide administrative support to the Local Group Committee, including receiving, handling and communicating relevant information to the Committee and SWT Head Office.

• Compile and distribute Agenda & Minutes of Local Group Committee meetings to Committee Members

• Main Contact for correspondence and enquiries for the Local Group and communication with SWT Head Office.

Programme Secretary - Produce and Administer the Stafford Local Group programme of walks and talks for the year.

• Source and book a programme of Wildlife Speakers for talks and walks, main liaison with Speaker to confirm booking and arrangements.

• With the LG Chairman, host the speaker on the talk evening.

• Ensuring talk venue is booked, equipment and venue are set up and suitable.

• Produce an Events Programme for promotion and communicate this information to SWT       Head Office

Publicity & Fundraising - Raise Awareness of Stafford Local Group and Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and promote fundraising activities, eg Raffles/Events etc

• Work with the Programme Secretary to ensure talks programme and literature is produced

• Actively promote the Local Group and SWT’s Events Programme (Via Press/Posters/Whats On)

• Oversee and administer the Donation Box scheme within the Stafford Area.
