Invitation to Tender: Urban Woodland Management, Staffordshire

Invitation to Tender: Urban Woodland Management, Staffordshire

Tree felling and thinning services are sought for a programme of woodland conservation works across three urban sites in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. The work is being undertaken by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust as part of a wider project funded by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) referred to as the SUNRISE Project.

All three sites are urban parks or open spaces owned and maintained by Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council. The work entails: 1) thinning of plantation woodland (between 20 - 50%), 2) some felling of larger specimens identified as posing a potential or future risk to rights of way or infrastructure, 3) extracting all timber and chipping all brash resulting from the operation.

It is anticipated that these works will begin early February 2019 and conclude mid March 2019. Access licences and all other works permissions will be coordinated by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. Detailed specifications are contained within the full Invitation to Tender (ITT) Document which can be downloaded below.

For any queries please contact Richard Guy, ERDF SUNRISE Project Manager on 01889 880129 or at r.guy@staffs-wildlife.org.uk.

Completed tenders to be submitted not later than 5pm Monday 28th January 2019 as per instructions in the Invitation to Tender document.
