OPAL
OPAL is a nation-wide community science project aimed at encouraging people to get involved with nature in their local area. They have developed a wide range of local and national programmes to encourage people from all backgrounds to get back in touch with nature. This includes a series of surveys around the themes, water, air, soil, climate & biodiversity which will generate valuable scientific data concerning the state of our environment.
Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is one of the partners working with the University of Birmingham in the West Midlands in getting as many people as possible to take part in the surveys and to record the results on the national database.
