Wildlife gardening advice on offer at coffee morning

A county nature conservation charity is inviting people to find out more about how to make their gardens more wildlife-friendly at a coffee morning this month.

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is holding the event at its Wolseley Centre HQ in Wolseley Bridge, on the A51 between Stafford and Rugeley, on Friday, September 10 from 10am – 12noon.

While enjoying coffee and cake, visitors can chat to the Trust’s education manager Graham Peake, who will answer questions about all aspects of wildlife gardening, such as which plants are best for attracting bees and butterflies and how to go about creating a wildlife pond.

Admission to the coffee morning is £1, which includes a hot or cold drink, and all proceeds from the event will go towards funding conservation projects around the county. There will also be stalls selling tasty homemade cakes and secondhand books.

Graham said: “After enjoying a drink, a cake and a chat, people can take a stroll around the grounds and get some ideas and inspiration from our own wildlife garden here at the Wolseley Centre.”
